Sea Port Village and Coronado

Earlier this week my friend Jessica suggested that she and I should drive down to San Diego, walk around and explore new locations. I don't do this as often as I would like too but, yesterday we went. As we wandered, of course I snapped several photos.

My favorte pictures were taken from the sand, looking out into the sunset, in front of Hotel Del Coronado. A beautiful historic hotel opened in 1888.

Our short adventure started by parking her car in the parking lot of Horton Plaza. A fabulous place to shop, if you aren't a "starving artist". Since, neither of us have much spending money we kept away from the shops and only ventured there to validate our parking ticket.

Jessica wanted to walk down to Sea Port Village and take some photos of the boats and near surroundings. Unfortunately, neither of us knew or realized ahead of time, that the docks were private. So, I was left feeling less inspired.

We continued to walk back to her car. The more we walked around, the hungrier I became. The Gaslamp area of San Diego is filled with restaurants and little shops. Both too tempting. We still had about an hour left of the sun so, we got back into the car and went across the Coronado bridge. Ending at the beachfront to finish our short, photographic adventure.

Muted tones

I have been going through the pictures that I took yesterday at Balboa Park and Coronado and I like a bunch of them. I am having trouble deciding which are my favorites. So, I may be posting all kinds of different ones from the same day because I like too many. Tons more to come soon:)

All That Glitters Is Gold

Today I went down to Balboa Park, in San Diego. It's such a beautiful place and it's wonderful to take pictures at. I went there with my friend to scout out some cool locations to come back to. While we were looking around for good spots for the next time we go there we shot a few pictures. I was bummed because we got there a little too late in the afternoon and the clouds were blocking most of the sunlight. After we went to Balboa park we cruised over to Coronado Island and took a few pictures on the beach.

For now, here are two pictures. The first is from Coronado Island and the second one, Balboa Park. I will be editing plenty more soon:) I'll keep you posted.

Of course, my styling for this shoot is vintage:) Except the shoes, those are from Reflection. I couldn't resist buying them.

Guilty Pleasure: Marilyn Manson

So, my guilty pleasure is listening to Marilyn Manson. I can't help it, I am drawn to him. I happen to love his style, his music and how eccentric he is.

He will be performing at the San Diego House of Blues August, 22nd and I really want to go. The House of Blues in San Diego is a pretty small venue. Small venues such as the San Diego, House of Blues is much more intimate than a stadium show.

Last year, I went and I had so much fun. I wore these vintage robin's egg blue tights with the cutest black, gray and blue plaid 50's dress. I had really blond hair at the time and curled it all up in a very retro do. I looked nothing like the other concert goer's but, I didn't care.

Fortunately, I survived the moshing but, my shoes and tights didn't. I was thinking of keeping them as a souvenir but then later decided not to. It was quite a struggle to remain close to the front with all of the huge males, in their even more gigantic shoes and chains. It was definitely an experience and it's an experience I want to do all over again.

Now, for my dilemma, I have no one to go with. None of my friends, family or acquaintances feel the same way I feel for Mr. Marilyn Manson. I am thinking about going this year alone but, hope not to. Tickets go on sale tomorrow, I better get to calling around to see if I can find a concert companion. If anyone will be in the San Diego area next month, August 22nd and would like to go, let me know:) hahaha

Here are a couple videos of last year's concert. If you dare to watch it, turn down the volume or mute it. The videos seems to be taken on a hand held camera or cell phone and the sound is terribly distorted.( This is about the same view I had, my arms might even be somewhere in the sea of hands.)
